Puerto Banus is only 5-6 km west of Marbella, and being under the Municipality of Marbella. Puerto Banus now attracts over 5 million people every year. In the centre of Puerto Banus is a huge marble square, close to el Corte Ingles department store. Here everyone enjoys the sun and can have a drink in the outside bar, surrounded by fountains.

Puerto Banús is synonymous with wealth, fashion, glamorous parties and the highlife and nightlife. Its reputation is high-class and high-price. The "place to be and to be seen", this is where the elite classes and would-be-famous are to be found.

But this is only half of the reality. From the 4 million visitors are only a few hundred from this famous and very rich people. In fact: Everybody, young and old, people with small and large budget, and in the winter also countless Spanish retired people are visiting this place with joy.

The marina is home to large, expensive yachts and also to smaller pleasure craft. Many restaurants and cafés, designer boutiques and restaurants, and diverse shops are on the promenade and the small streets behind. There are pubs, clubs, world-class shopping and casino facilities as well. But again: there are also cheap shops, bars and restaurants for the small budgets.

It’s not true that countless people are going to the Puerto Banus for watching the coming and going of Ferrari's and Bentley's! There are thousands of “normal” cars every day coming and leaving the place. It is NOT simply the "in" place to shop for designer labels. It is a place with many “normal” shops, bars and restaurants – and for everybody!

Innumerable (“normal”) families, couples and individuals are coming to Puerto Banus, for shopping at the Corte Ingles, Marina Banus shopping center, or the Christamar shopping center. Or they are just looking for a relaxing time away, with plenty of sunshine.

The beach to the north of the town and is called Playa Levante. It’s a golden sandy beach which receive cleaning and maintenance every night during the summer months.
