The Costa Del Sol welcomes millions of people each year arriving at Malaga international airport and head to one of the many resorts located along this stretch of coastline from Sotogrande in the west to Almeria in the east. The Costa del Sol has beautiful landscape, rugged coastlines, and important historical values. The coastline from the province of Andalucia stretches for approximately 325 km with countless beautiful, sandy beaches and clear sea. Stretched along the coastline are many small fishing villages which still are the mainstay of village life.
Malaga old city center with its windy streets and witness historical buildings has a lot to offer, including museums, art galleries and churches side by side with today’s modern architecture and modern life. The Costa and the Malaga province are home to some of the finest Flamenco shows, bull fighting, and the typical tapas bars.
The most well known resorts are Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Mijas Costa, Calahonda, Marbella, Puerto Banus, San Pedro de Alcántara, Estepona, and Sotogrande.
The Mediterranean climate with excellent holiday temperatures and 300-320 days of sunshine per year – hot summers and mild winters! – has made this place to a fist class tourist destination. There are around 70 golf courses on the whole Costa del Sol, included the east side (Nerja, Almeria). The coast boasts one of the highest concentrations of world-class golf courses.
Many other activities are possible on most resorts: sailing, scuba diving, horse riding, dolphin and rural safaris, etc. Innumerable excursions are possible. For families are theme parks, the water parks, the go-karting, the safari parks and many beautiful public gardens. The services are excellent.
Special excursions (day trips) into the real Spanish cultural life are offered to Ronda, Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada, Gibraltar, and Morocco.
For younger peoples the main areas of attraction are Benalmadena's Puerto Marina & '24-hour square' and Puerto Banus Marbella. The nightlife starts around midnight and stay open till early in the morning.
Many people from allover the world relocated permanently to the Costa del Sol. Each year more and more people, especially from the North of Europe, come to the Costa del Sol for a new life, or for a second holiday home. |
