Coín is a town and municipality in Málaga province, approximately 35 km west of Málaga and 32 km north of Marbella. The town is only a 25 minutes drive from the beaches of Málaga and Marbella, also from the 50 km stretch of coastline of Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Benalmadena. Coin is located in the valley of the Rio Grande. Once a small village, this resort today is expanding fast and has become a place of residence for many foreigners.

In the town are a large number of public fountains around the streets and squares, used in the past as the only source of drinking water. Coín is today a modern town with excellent infrastructure and the newly built La Trocha shopping center. There are more than 4 large supermarkets, a Spanish cinema, and many bars and restaurants.

Places of interests are the several churches. The Church of San Andres is also known as the Caridad and forms part of the hospital. The Church of San Juan is one of the largest churches in the province and has been officially declared a national monument. Impressing is the wealth of its important architecture .
